David Gorman was born and raised in Kirkland Lake. He attended École Assomption, École St. Joseph and graduated from KLCVI in 1998. Upon graduation, he was awarded the prestigious KLCVI Reunion ’88
Committee and the Kinsmen Athletic awards.
After high school, David attended the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (2002). He was also elected as President of the graduating class for the University at large and was Valedictorian for the faculties of Business Administration, Education and Kinesiology.
David then taught in the Business Department at Fredericton High School before attending law school at l’Univeristé de Moncton in Moncton, NB. In the summer of 2004, David summered as a student-at- law with the law firm of Cox Hanson O’Reilly Matheson (now Cox Palmer). In 2006, David graduated 11th in his class from l’Université de Moncton after completing his Common Law Degree in his second language, French.
David continuously pursues educational opportunities and has participated in Continuing Legal Education through the Law Society of Upper Canada and he has completed courses at the University of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario, Queen’s University, Athabasca University and the University of Manitoba.
After graduation from law school, David worked briefly in labour law as an education and policy officer for the New Brunswick Nurses’ Union. He then returned to teaching, teaching law, math and French to high school students at Leo Hayes High School in Fredericton. In 2010, David returned to Kirkland Lake to manage the Kirkland Lake Campus of Northern College where he would stay for two years. David wrote the Ontario Barristers and Solicitors exams in November 2011, and was called to the Ontario Bar on January 25th, 2013. David is currently working with the Conseil Scolaire Catholique du District des Grandes Rivieres and running a a law practice on the side.

David has always been an active volunteer in the communities where he has lived.
Currently, David is a Director of the Rotary Club of Kirkland Lake.
